China has started moving.

A Chinese court has frozen up to $300 million in Nexperia assets in China, after the Netherlands stripped Wingtech of control over the chipmaker. Wingtech is also seeking 8 billion yuan in damages.

This is bigger than one Dutch semiconductor dispute.

For years, Western governments behaved as if Chinese assets could be sanctioned, frozen, seized, restructured or politically confiscated abroad while Chinese jurisdiction remained irrelevant.

That era is ending.

If Europe can wrap the confiscation of Chinese strategic assets in the language of law, China can answer through law too.

China has never lacked leverage for retaliation.

It sits at the center of global supply chains, hosts enormous foreign assets, controls critical industrial capacity, and has courts of its own.

You can call your seizure legal.

China can call its retaliation legal too.

The age when the West could take Chinese assets and assume the consequences would stop at a diplomatic protest is over.

Now every capital that has been reaching for Chinese assets should start asking a different question:

Who’s next?

Panama City?

London?

Canberra?

New Delhi?

中国开始行动了。

一家中国法院已冻结安世半导体（Nexperia）在华高达 3 亿美元的资产，此前荷兰政府剥夺了 Wingtech 对这家芯片制造商的控制权。Wingtech 同时正寻求 80 亿元人民币的损害赔偿。

这远不止一起荷兰半导体争端。

多年来，西方政府行事仿佛中国资产可以在海外被制裁、冻结、没收、重组或政治性充公，而中国司法管辖无关紧要。

那个时代正在终结。

如果欧洲能用法律语言包装对中国战略资产的侵夺，中国同样可以用法律作出回应。

中国从不缺少反制筹码。

它处于全球供应链中心，坐拥巨额外国资产，掌控关键工业产能，并且有自己的法院。

你可以称你的没收行为合法。

中国也可以称其反制措施合法。

西方可以拿走中国资产、而后果仅止于外交抗议的时代已经过去了。

如今，每一个曾把手伸向中国资产的资本，都应该开始问一个不同的问题：

下一个是谁？

巴拿马城？

伦敦？

堪培拉？

新德里？
