所谓山不在高,有仙则灵。一个博物馆如能够做到全方位面向公众,切实为民众服务。有没有镇馆之宝,有没有百万藏品,真的就不那么重要了。Ceramic teapot spout; body; hand-painted porcelain; pieces fit togetherTeapot with a detached lid. Handle is modeled as a rope attached to the top corner of the body curling up and rounding down below the mid-section where two tassels drape away creating an inverted 'V' shape. The top is wrapped with a modeled rope tightly creating a bunched look which in turns creates the neck. The mouth flares out and is waved, continuing the bunched appearance. The general shape is spherical with the spout is attached just above the midsection. The lid handle is a knob with a modeled shape rope tied around tightly matching the bunched appearance. The teapot mouth and lid are trimmed in gold. The shield is in edged style. Orange background with a stag head and antlers. Between the antlers is a Botonee budded cross. Beneath the shield is a yellow ribbon written "Ancient Burgh of Canongate Edinburgh". Made by G.H. Goss, 1858-1887
