[读书笔记] 丁尼生 《尤利西斯》 节选

本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲,演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的,不过我看了后觉得很受激励,就抄录下来以作自勉:: D% ~+ E2 K9 ~% H4 [: }0 _

3 Q* z) Y8 C) b  ~1 L'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
" _/ J, l) `3 j3 v( t
, U: ?8 M* u; {, r5 w* t0 z* NPush off, and sitting well in order smite4 S2 v7 v4 A: b- z! v4 b* T/ v; p

& z9 A3 H$ \1 I7 V/ a* DThe sounding furrows; for my purpose holds) R1 I+ k' x! l/ t! X$ w

6 \/ y* J. ?% m. ITo sail beyond the sunset, and the baths, M, ?0 `, h2 h7 u3 a

) |0 p. u7 o! [) k4 j0 u+ R+ Z7 TOf all the western stars,until I die.$ Z$ V! S. W  y0 l" ^: C

1 ]' W% \  z' d4 ?+ B* r% \5 FIt may be that the gulfs will wash us down;

It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,% k) ]+ a/ m. C1 F2 A

And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.

One equal temper of heroic hearts,

Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
