本杰明格雷厄姆八十岁生日爬梯上对儿孙们做了个演讲，演讲最后以这一段诗作结尾。这首诗是写老年的，不过我看了后觉得很受激励，就抄录下来以作自勉：

# b" K+ @: f" k: {, G+ O+ A'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.

4 \, @% }( X0 f" R) b- H6 Y% N1 P2 _Push off, and sitting well in order smite

( g1 W; w. M! B8 \7 O- K' b: ?The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds

/ j5 B/ @- P: I, gTo sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
. H. U0 n* a  x  R3 s) C  p, _
) W  c$ K4 d7 V# x4 a+ t  |Of all the western stars，until I die.

6 x" t: d* S1 {) Y  D3 @It may be that the gulfs will wash us down;

" H* r6 V( P4 x# `) v1 @It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,

Though much is taken, much abides; and though
