Yu-kiang(没查出来是什么,汗!谁知道是港式还是台式拼音啊?)The ancient Chinese believed that a strange mythological figure, Yu-kiang, held sway over the sea. This dragon-riding water deity had the body of a fish but the hands and feet of a human being. It was not a true fish, however, but a kuan, a huge whale several thousand li long that came from the Northern Sea. Sometimes the monstrous kuan got angry, and when it did it turned into a gigantic bird (p'eng), whipping up terrible storms as it emerged aborve the ocean surface (M. Soymi, in P. Grimal, 1963)

Dragon Fish

A crown of crystal beaded ringlets;
binary black diamond stars;
an infinite smile;
the dragon fish glides unseen
between sky and sea.

Summoned by a weary mermaid,
he coaxes a frightened child
to grasp his mighty shoulders
leaving fear in his wake.

But the reality of the shore
is not his domain.
a thunderous splash,
and he is gone
deep into the heart of darkness
whence he came.
