你总是乐于指出别人的错误而吝于承认 ...
你如果有本事指出我的错误，我自然承认。就象仁说gave pause to是过去式，我立刻就意识到并承认了自己的疏漏。
give pause to译作短暂停留并不准确，英汉词典和英英词典的解释我都抄给你了，自己看着办，大家都有分辨力。
对了，明天我要到我父母家“短暂停留”一下，我不是去犹豫和踌躇的。

唉:-(从你最后这个例子就知道你没明白。你应该这么举例子，忽然消失的狗让你短暂停留了，那你是不是犹豫踌躇思考了呢？
两个破折号的继续讨论讨论？这可是英语语法，不是诗，没有多解性。对就是对，错就是错。

"看那些鬼"：
不太清楚你的意思。一则“看”从原文哪里得来，二则，谁看。

我觉得山菊这样译，再译回英语，大体上是：
Transient clouds stop being gravity's marionette.
stop doing, 停止做某事，不再做某事。
与之相区别的是stop to do sth: 停下（原来做的事），开始做另一件事。
give pause to sb. 使某人犹豫。
原文：transient clouds that gave pause to gravity's marionette.
that引导定语从句，直译：
曾使重力的牵线木偶犹豫的转瞬即逝的云。

我昨天问水龙同学了，关于破折好里四句，他说我的理解是对的。然而最后一句错了~~~主要是我读不通这句的英文文法！他说完整的句子应该是：

他答应解释一下这后两首诗。另外他说很喜欢你翻译的那首'龙鱼'~~~他查字典看的中文{:189:}
另外他说自己信佛教。
我知道他吃素很多年了。

在两个dash同时出现时，一般情况下都可以把两个dash换做左右括弧活逗号，也就是说两个dash间的内容只是补 ...

读了三遍。。。我觉得这一段放在雅思托福里都是难句了。。
原来在作者眼里这一段是写死亡和我们应该平静接受死亡的。实在想不到。意料之外，诗意之中。
