Copper 是 BBC America 推的以1860年代的纽约为背景的警察题材的剧集，现在正在播第二季。这个剧我没看，据说反响也一般，吸引我的是它第二季的一个预告片中采用的歌—— Iron & Wine 翻唱的 Hard Times Come Again No More。

Hard Times Come Again No More 这首歌发表于1854年，正是剧集 Copper 设定的那个年代。作者 Stephen Foster，被称作“美国音乐之父”，他写的很多歌都可谓家喻户晓，比如 Oh! Susanna，很多歌传唱至今。

Hard Times Come Again No More 被很多人翻唱过，个人认为 Iron & Wine 的演绎是最好的，可惜找不到伴奏，就跟着 Iron & Wine 唱吧。

这是我第一次听这首歌。最初听到的时候，不知为何让我想到的是前些日子看电影的那首歌，那首Hobit的主题歌。或许是这种遥远叙事的调子，或许是你的声线。

这是一首让所有沉浸在自己的欢乐中的人们内心沉下来的歌。但是对心中充满了痛苦的人来说，这首歌更是一种祈祷和释放。
