《中华字经》英文版

1.1课天文

乾坤有序 The Heaven and the Earth have their orders,
宇宙无疆 The vast universe has no borders
星辰密布 The stars and planets densely overlay,
斗柄指航 The Ladle and the Handle navigate the way.
昼白夜黑 White is the day and black is the night,
日明月亮 The sun is shining, the moon is bright.
风驰雪舞 The snow dances and the wind dashes,
电闪雷响 The thunder booms and the lightning flashes.
云腾致雨 The vapor rises to clouds, thus rain is caused,
露结晨霜 Or condense into dew and morning frost.
虹霓霞辉 So brilliant are rainbow, neon, and twilight glow,
雾沉雹降 Hail falls quickly and fog descends slow.
春生夏长 Birth in spring, growth in summer,
秋收冬藏 Harvest in autumn and storage in winter,
时令应候 The seasons correspond to the changing weather,
寒来暑往 Comes and goes, the cooler or the hotter.

《中华字经》是郑州大学郭保华教授受《千字文》、《三字经》等经典教材启迪，将现代汉语常用字近4000字融合成的一千句四字韵文。个人觉得，这部著作在促进儿童快速识字方面还是很有意义的。如果想进一步了解，可以参考台中教育大学石曼如女士的硕士论文:

提醒一下，这篇论文有150页，真材实料，操作性强，作为教辅工具，能够开发出《中华字经》的巨大潜力。我原先也对《中华字经》半信半疑，读完这篇论文，才下决心把《中华字经》当做孩子中文阅读训练的先修教材。

我本着语言是交流工具，语言学习就是交流过程的理念，试着把《中华字经》译成英文。水平有限，欢迎指教。只是希望仅限于译文质量，避免歪楼。有意批判原作的，可以很方便地找到郭教授的联系方式，自行交流，不亦美哉。

谢谢指教，你的意见很宝贵。
我的译文，受到原文的束缚。本来是想让孩子实现汉英一字一词的对照，同步扩大汉英基本词汇量，所以才用到navigate, caused 和condense这样的词。不过对老外未必适用。我有朋友给老外教中文，把两个方案都拿去，看看老外的反应如何。

我的只能算是儿歌，不敢称诗。而且后面越写越白话，没有诗意，就是为了让孩子认字的串烧。
