美国海军陆战队David Furness少将在Sea Air Space会议（军界、政界和军工的公开年会）上说到：

Everywhere we went, we were confronted with Chinese. They would come up to us in the hotels, out in the streets and just kind of get really in our face," Marine Maj. Gen. David Furness said of his recent service in East Africa. "And they'd basically tell us, we're coming after you. They weren't shy about it at all.

China is in the midst of “a large-scale exercise, a theater level exercise of huge scope and scale. It’s something that really US forces haven’t done, you know, since Reforger — and you’re in the ’80s — of that scale. And they’re pulling it off.”

这当然是巨大规模的演习，涉及广泛地区和多军兵种。这个Furness少将刚从东部非洲调回来，是有前线经验的，应该言之有据。但新闻里没有这样的大规模中国军演。有记者去问陆战队，得到这样的回答：

specific answers to these questions veer into intelligence matters, which we typically don’t discuss,” before referring further questions to the Defense Intelligence Agency," said Lt Col Martin Meiners, US Marines.

再问DIA：

DIA doesn’t have anything to add. Please contact the PRC for information about their exercise.

实际上就是说：我们根本没听说过有这样的演习。否则没什么不好确认的，这样大的演习一点都不可能保密。最近最大的演习就是中俄联合演习，双方各出10000人。这和80年代的Reforger根本不能比，1988年的Reforger动用了12.5万美军，包括(Germany based units) USAREUR (U.S. Army Europe): 3rd Infantry Division (Mech), Würzburg; 8th Infantry Division, Bad Kreuznach; 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Nuremberg; 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fulda; 3rd Armored Division, Frankfurt-am-Main; Berlin Brigade, Berlin. (U.S.-based units): 1st Infantry Division (Mech); 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment; ; 197th Infantry Brigade; 45th Infantry Brigade, 1-179th Infantry (OK-ARNG, Oklahoma Army National Guard).

看来少将大人在满嘴跑火车。

政客跑火车不奇怪，职业军官跑火车就费思量了。这可能是在哗众取宠，或者为职业生涯捞政治资本。但理论上应该严谨、精确的职业军人也沦落到这个地步了，而且是高调地在公开场合，美军的真实素质可能成问题了。

军人都是有政治立场的，但西方原则是：军人不能干预政治，也就是说，不能以军人间接影响政治决策。少将大人这是在用军人间接影响政治决策了。如果中国真是在进行Reforger级的演习，那是完全不同的备战了。但军人惑众，该当何罪？

应该不算跑火车，最近我们在南海画个一个10万平方公里的区域做演习。
在4日的时候，海南海事局发出的琼航警0061，按照坐标轴测算，正好是从海南岛的东方、东南方起，延伸至西沙群岛的东北方，在经过测算后，解放军围海的面积已然超过了10万平方公里，这比去年试射是围海的面积要更大！
